Grass Growing
The grass grew with incredible vigor. It stretched it's body to the
sky with the energy from the sunlight. To grow it drank water that
came from weather ranging from gentle rain, violent storms and the
snow the grass endured during winter. It's roots took nutrients from
the soil. Nutrients from life before: Decayed plants or animals that
died of old age or the carcasses of those animals killed in the hunt.
The grass grew from the death before it and would eventually feed the
soil or some animal itself. How tall it would grow before it did that
was unknown now. All known now was that it would grow upward and
upward until it was torn from the Earth by the maw of an animal or
withered away.
