Ruining Ruins
We'll construct a city! We'll make a monument! The people decide to
leave their mark on the land. Magnificent structures are built and
the ruins of the old are wiped out, harvested for materials, or
damaged to a shadow of their former selves to make room for the new.
Many, many, years later some new voices speak: We'll construct a
city! We'll make a monument! The people decide to leave their mark on
the land. Magnificent structures are built and the ruins of the old
are wiped out.
Then after that it begins again and again. All as humanity marches
on. Every person that cries “We'll build a city!” is building
eventual ruins.
