Had a bit of wooziness and nasea today,
but I didn't take any extra anti-nasea medication as we're trying to
get me offa it. I think its because we're changing the Fellbamate
time to 7:00 with the rest of my meds(we started at 8:00) But it
wasn't bad and I recovered fine. So yeah! Mother also gave me a nice
little magazine “retro gamer” It was interesting to hear about
the old video games. I find it interesting reading about
entertainment history(video games, television and sometimes music)
when you see how technology changes how people do things. Reminding
me of old stuff I saw a video of somebody reviewing that John Carter
movie and he was talking about how overused all the stuff in the
movie was. I thought that was funny because the reason that all the
stuff was overused was that it was based on a 100 year old sci-fi
book hence the guy actually did everything first and everybody was
ripping off of him all these years. So really everybody was ripping
off the movie in a weird way even though the movie was new. This kinda
feels like one of those time travel paradoxes. Well, with that little
ramble over onto the flash fiction!
Saving The Day
Spectacular Kid watched his idol and
mentor Spectacular Man be defeated by Black-Hole. Black-Hole is what
they called the monster that would take the life force of people and
wreak havoc. It was more dangerous than any mere supervillian, even
Dr. Desolation. Spectacular Man was not the only hero who fought the
monster. Heroes from all over the world joined the fight, it had to
be stopped, because it would never on its own.
The creature was a shape-shifter,
though it could not impersonate anyone as it always gave off a
strange green-black glow unlike anything else. It defeated any hero
that tried to fight it. The Mega-Bolt, master of speed, it became an
octopus with arms of lighting and those arms surrounded and smashed
him, leaving him paralyzed on the ground. Kung-Fu Man was met with a
thousand fists that he could not counter. Not all heroes fought it
one-on-one. Leagues of heroes jumped it and were met with various
different monstrous forms. Teams and squads joined in. Armies of
superheroes came over the horizon and were defeated. Even the
Change-o-bots in all their car and combined forms were defeated
quickly.
Then finally, the Mega-Empowered
Rangers came. Though Spectacular Kid idolized Spectacular Man he knew
that the Mega-Empowered Rangers were the most powerful heroes in the
world. This was because they had the greatest power in the world. The
greatest power that any superhero knew, The Power of Friendship! The
Turquoise Ranger, The Amber Ranger, The Chartreuse Ranger, The
Cardinal Ranger, The Beige Ranger, with The Power of Friendship they
could perform any super move needed to defeat any foe!
They were crushed by Black-Hole.
Spectacular Kid couldn't believe it.
The Power of Friendship defeated. The Power of Friendship! The one
truth he knew was that if a hero had faith in The Power of Friendship
he could get out of anything. It beat any power. Flight. Laser
beams. Gadgets. Teleportation. Mind Reading. Fire Breath. Ice Breath.
Super Strength. When all hope was lost for a superhero he used The
Power of Friendship to escape. Even if his friends weren't by his
sides. But here it failed. What other greater power was there?
It hit him. A power he could use to
defeat Black-Hole. But he was afraid to use it. It was a power he and
Spectacular Man only knew of. Though before only Spectacular Man knew
of it. A long time ago Spectacular Man defeated an evil wizard who
used an indestructible book of dark magic. Since Spectacular Man
could not destroy it he hid it in the Spectacular Hideout.
Spectacular Kid's biggest flaw was his insatiable curiosity so when
he discovered the book he read it, every page. Though Spectacular
Kid's heart was pure so he resisted any temptation and forgot about
the book until this dire moment. He rushed back to the hideout. His
power, although still developing, was incredible speed, so he came
back before too many more bodies had piled up.
He flipped through the pages
frantically and selected the most powerful spell he could find.
Though he had to sacrifice a fraction of soul for it to work. But he
didn't care. He had to stop Black-Hole. He cast the spell. The sky
went dark. Many of his memories started vanishing. But not the big
ones. He didn't forget events like his birthday parties, or his
adventures with Spectacular Man or Christmas days or newsworthy
events. The little events that people don't even realize are recorded
in their brain were the memories that the spell took. The thousands
of time that people of said thank you, please, excuse me. All the
hugs and high fives, handshakes. He had all the tiny strokes good
luck swiped from the back of his mind. He would remember that roses
smelled nice but the memory of a rose's smell would be gone. All the
little pleasantries of life that sat in back of the mind and made him
a happier person were pulled away. That was the fraction of his soul
that the book took as payment for the spell.
But Black-Hole was destroyed, and when
it was destroyed the life force it stole was returned to the people
it stole it from. Everyone was revived. Spectacular Kid had saved the
day.
